The Faces Behind The Blog
Hey, we’re Jess & Dan — and we believe travel and money should bring you closer, not stress you out.
If you’ve ever wished to travel more with your partner without blowing your budget or your sanity, you’re in the right place!

Our journey together started with uncertainty. Jess had given up on love. Dan planned to move to Germany. But we found reasons to see each other. In one month, Jess convinced Dan to switch his credit card to her favourite travel one.
Jess realized Dan was someone who valued her opinion and wanted to learn together. That mindset has shaped the way we build our life — and our adventures — together ever since.
Places We’ve Loved
Travel Destinations
We’ve stayed both on and off resorts, and the hospitality always blows us away. It’s vibrant, warm, and easy to feel at home. Some of our favourite hotels and food memories live here.
Stunning views, immaculate infrastructure, and price tags to match. It’s one of the most expensive places we’ve travelled—but the fresh air, clean cities, and mountain trains were unforgettable.
Dan almost moved here. Jess did not love the spa culture (learned the hard way about those nude rules). While it wasn’t the warmest place socially, the homes and public spaces are beautifully designed. We’re glad we went.
The best lobster Jess has ever had. I visited local schools, met ambitious and bright-eyed students, and learned about the deep, powerful history of Ghana.
We island-hopped, fell in love with the food (so fresh!), and soaked up some of the most romantic, slow, beautiful days of our lives. Friendly people. Lazy afternoons. Zero regrets.
Our Story
Merging lives — and finances — isn’t always smooth sailing.
Finding Our Rhythm
We’ve learned how to work together despite different personalities, travel styles, and upbringings. And we’ve built a lifestyle that lets us take multiple trips a year, both big and small, without going into debt or sacrificing our bigger financial goals.
Jess lives with chronic pain — something that shaped her decision to leave corporate life and become an entrepreneur. Running her own business hasn’t been easy (it’s still a work in progress finding balance), but it’s the only way she’s been able to create the flexibility she needs. That means structuring travel so there’s room to rest, accepting that sometimes she’ll have to miss out on certain activities, and trusting Dan to explore on his own when she needs downtime.
We’ve learned that traveling well together means building in space for each other’s needs, energy, and pace.

Greece 2024
How Travel Became Our Thing
We didn’t start out with endless money or unlimited vacation days — but we figured out how to merge our lives and finances so we could travel often, live well now, and still take care of future us.
Some of our favourite trips have been bucket-list adventures — like flying in business class to Greece (Dan’s first time, and he swore he’d never go back to economy). Others are smaller getaways, like our trip to PEI with fresh blueberry French toast, quiet beach walks, and zero phone notifications.
We’ve done it without going into debt, without draining our investments, and without putting our bigger financial goals on hold.
What Our Blog Helps Couples Do:
What We’ve Accomplished
We’ve both built multi–six-figure net worths, each has over $100k in investments, and owns two properties together. Dan taught himself everything he knows about investing. I started at 19 as a TD Bank Advisor, earned my investment license, became an Equifax Certified Credit Professional, and later earned a Master of Management at the Schulich School of Business.
We’ve learned how to merge our finances, our lives, and our goals — even with two completely different careers. Dan works full time; I quit corporate five years ago to run my own business teaching women how to build wealth on their own terms. It’s been a rollercoaster, but we’ve figured out how to make it work without sacrificing our dreams.
Travel is one of those dreams.
A Few Things You Should Know About Us
- Our favourite trip together? PEI — a cozy bed & breakfast with the best homemade blueberry French toast, long walks on the beach, and no agenda except to enjoy each other’s company.
- Our one non-negotiable splurge: clean bathrooms. (If the reviews are bad, we’re not staying.)
- Our biggest difference: Dan loves to be outside in nature. Jess loves to be INSIDE! We’ve learned to balance both — and even found common ground in our shared goal of living healthier lives.
- Alcohol isn’t a big part of our travels. Jess is 99% alcohol-free, and Dan has cut back drastically since we met. So our trips aren’t centred around wine tours or boozy cruises (although Dan does like to visit a good brewery).
We booked $8,000+ business class flights to Europe for under $200. Want to learn how?
